Post Front Fishing!!
After the front pushed through last night today was Sunny and perfect for sight fishing these jokers, but all I found were a lot of laid up fish!! No one was in the mood to eat and I didn't see a lot of mudders!
I did manage to find one working the bank and connected!
Ho, Ho, Ho Merry "Carpmas" Everyone!!
I also had a Sandhill Crane keep an eye on me while working the skinny!

Yep! Just opened up last year, but after 400 birds are taken the season closes..... There were tons of birds on the lake yesterday!SS-342 wrote:I've heard Sand Hill Cranes are good to eat. Can you hunt the in KY?
SANDHILL CRANE SEASON
Sandhill crane season opens Dec. 15, 2012 and closes Jan. 13, 2013. The daily and season bag limit is two birds. Hunters must apply for a sandhill crane permit online on at the Kentucky De- partment of Fish and Wildlife Resources website, fw.ky.gov, from Nov. 15 through Nov. 30, 2012 and pay a $3 application fee. The drawing is Dec. 5.
When I was on the lake I was wondering how you would decoy those jokers in, but after just checking it looks like they have decoys for those and they are hunted hard in TX??

Man those Carp are ugly. Ole Bob Hewes must be spinning in his grave to see his beautiful little skiff in chasing that homely of a fish. lol
At least you get them on a fly.......that's some little bit of redemption for the poor boat.
