Pay it Forward...

After a long day at work and fighting off the wintertime Tallahassee crud, I just wanted to get home and get in the confines of my bed. Late last night I was driving home, following a line of cars, I noticed a car on the side of the road with its hazards on. Getting closer I saw a young woman holding a baby trying to flag someone down. The five cars ahead didn't even slow. I wasn't sure if this was some type of set up, but as I neared her at a low rate of speed, I noticed not only the mom and child, but a newborn strapped into a car seat. Being raised right, I proceeded to make a u-turn and come back up behind her. I asked her what the problem was, and being borderline hysterical, we realized she was just out of fuel. I told her I would help. I pulled out in front of her and hooked up my tow strap. The tow strap that I needed and then bought after dang near burying my truck in the woods late checking out the deer property late few years ago. I got her all hooked up and told her to Please use the brakes, so she didn't rear-end me. I pulled her in to the Kangaroo station, and realized I had over shot the pumps. I told her to stay in the car and steer as I pushed her back closer. While she was digging around her car and settling the kiddos down, I had swiped my debit card and put $10 in her tank. The woman, whom I don't even know or ask her name, wanted my address to repay me. I said it wasn't necessary, folks have helped me in a time of need or two. Just do something else nice for someone else. She was about in tears, and thanked me. I told her "tis the season, to pay it forward." I got my tow strap, and headed to the house.
