Finally a decent day to fish....so I launched BSAM into a super low bay w/ forecast of north winds. Have been looking/studying on trolling for trout. So, I spent three hours dragging 3/4 oz rattle traps and looking at my depth finder. I guess it was a zen like time pondering and meditating...because that was all I got out of it...more research needed.

The three hours of trolling was covered in less than 5 minutes at 60 mph. Hit the bay and here was a raft of ducks & seagulls in the channel...they took flight and dropped munitions on me :-?

After the sheet fest....I noticed the wind was southeast..hmmm. Ran across the bay and set up with a perfect drift w/ the sun and wind to my back....negative tide rising should see some tails.

Started seeing fish working in small schools, some tailing....sailed the Charlie bait in on them and pulled four out right quick. Decided that I should try the fly rod...got it out....got ready..fish tailing off the bow 60ft. Two false casts - laid fly right next to the fish and it crushed Capt. Caveman. Got fish on the reel....got it to the boat & fly pulled, but it was nice...been awhile. Ended up getting two more into the boat on the buggy whip before the wind turned and messed up my stealth approach.

Ended the day w/ two more reds on Charlie baits - good day on the water

Nice reds, Chalk. Glad you got back on the water, I haven't been in a while.

Very nice Chalk. Been pondering a west bay trip.
