Hit of the Year!

Post by big bend gyrene »

No offense to my FSU friends or y'all Gator fans either, but two best bowl games thus far were the South Carolina/Michigan and Clemson/LSU games. Much more exciting games, with determined play, hardcore smash-mouth football, and thrilling last minute victories.

Despite South Carolina roots I'm also a long time FSU fan, with the only time I've wished FSU to lose being while playing the Gamecocks. Reids hit on Lattimore a few years back at the start of the Chick-Fil-A bowl knocked the wind right out of Carolina and led to a loss that weighed on my mind... until ERASED by Javedon Clowney's hit on Michigan's Vincent Smith. Reid made an open field hit with the benefit of a wide open sprint. Javedon made his hit off the line with just five steps. Insane.... just full BEAST mode right there.  :smt045 :D

Think this Wikipedia entry pretty much sums it up. LMAO!

And honestly don't know which was more the poetic justice... that Clowney immediately erased the bad 4th down call to give Michigan a CLEARLY undeserved first down... OR that he repaid Smith for blocking him in the nuggets earlier in the game. :smt005

That hit will be shown for years to come, He will have many more of the same on Sunday football if he wants to. That kind of play puts you in the same league as all the other big play makers of the past.

I'am sure all the Nole faithful remember the 2002 game on thursday night when an unranked Louisville team beat the 4th ranked noles 26-20. And in 01 they were beat by an unranked NC State 34-28. Of course we can blame the loss to Louisville on the rain. :-D . All jabs aside, Louisville came to play and Florida thought they were there to go through the motions and get a trophy.
