For what possible reason?

If soft baits are outlawed, only outlaws will have soft baits. salute3

I think that there should be a course that teaches fisherman how to properly use soft baits. There should be a beginner course that would allow you to use baits under 2". Then if you pass the more advanced course, you could use any size soft bait and you would achieve the rank of Master. Master baiter. ba da bing

Read the article, but I'm not understanding what the problem with "rubber" baits are... Is it that fish are eating them and dying or something? If so, wouldn't there be a similar problem with hard baits or even hooks?

Seriously doubt we'll have to worry about this in FL though, I'd be willing to bet that law wont get passed in Maine either. Seems like misinformed politicians getting involved in a problem that doesn't exist.

More then likely he is being lobbied by someone representing the hard bait manufacturers.

No. More likely he is getting lobbied by extreme environmentalist or extreme animal activist. Who take the system down brick by brick so we don't realize our rights and freedoms are being sabotaged.
