I have a G3 green center console that is chalking on some areas. What is a good product to buff this out with?

If the console is made of aluminum then the paint is most likely a flat powder coat. You could try a meguirs rubbing compound but test in a very small area first. Make sure the console is cool and out of the sun when you do this.

Mikes marine has the touch up paint if that will work in a spray can

Thanks. It is fiberglass, I am thinking it can be buffed out.

Might be time for some gel-coat. A polishing compound and a buffer followed by a coat of wax might do the trick. My console (also fiberglass) is pretty beat up as well, but mine's a "FISHING" boat not a pleasure craft. Looks don't really matter much to me.

The steps for gelcoat restoration has several stages. Wet sanding for really heavy oxidation or other damage. Then compounding with a product like 3M rubbing compound and a rotary polisher with a wool pad. Then you go to a polish like 3M Finesse-it II. Then a sealer and/or wax. Wet sanding is only needed in extreme cases. Even compounding may not be necessary. Start with the polish and see if it is getting the results you want. If not, backup and do the compound and then back to the polish and then wax. Here is a link to a good how to:
