Actually that is 6-30 spiderwire. Been on my reels since i bought them about ten or twelve years ago. Used to fish down in the keys and needed the extra line strength then. One of the selling points of braid - it doesn't rot !!

As i said, didn't have a bump or follow up with any top water plug?? Best results came from the gold spoon, jig heads with white and rootbeer colored Gulps. Also, understand that the first hour did not produce a hit, follow ups "yes", but not one hit. Then the fish turned "on" and i quickly caught about a dozen fish!! As fast as they started hitting, they shut off !!!??? Then an hour later they started again, but only for about thirty minutes?? Tide related i am sure!! I can surely understand, you getting skunked any time the fish just "shut down"!!! And considering the short "active feeding time', it can easily be overlooked!! If i post a report, it will be my honest opinion and NOT misleading in any way!!

Tytytyty did NOT get skunked on sunday. We had a donkey with us and we arrived with a low incoming dirty tide, so the upriver creeks were a no go during the day. I told Ty, the donkey does not get to cast onto new water in these creeks, theres only one fish in every third hole here, but you're guaranteed a big fish every 3 holes. Your presentation MUST be perfect, and ultra slow or they will NOT take it. You must have a mono leader tied if youre using braid, no stupid swivel clips, no weights, they WILL NOT take it. Hand him the pole after weve boated a few. We ended up just cutting off the mouth of the river near the rocks at the high incoming and outgoing tide to put the donk into a school of peanut trout so he could learn. I boated at least 8-10 short peanut trout, Ty boated about 5-6 and we handed the rod over to the donk for 3-4, and he caught 2-3 himself. Its too bad seas were 1 foot outside the river, I really wanted to hit up the oyster creek area at the high outgoing, but my number one goal was to keep everyone dry. We had a productive day, boated about 20 short trout, and we introduced a new person to the salt life!

Donkey= someone that has no idea what he's doing on the water. There's tons of them in south florida.

Yeah, seems to me like a "Donkey" would be someone who went out on the water depending on a cell phone for Navigation. Then stay up in a creek till dark and not have a spotlight with them, run up on oyster bars and almost hit a buoy at 30 mph! Oh yeah, then end up up at Live Oak island instead of the Fort.

yeah, that was really donk of me. I've been waiting for someone to say something about that lol . I've navigated before without having to use my spotlight in fog, and a new moon coming out of weird creeks and never had a problem before. I didnt intend to stay out past dusk that day either. I dont see the point of paying $500 -$1k for boat gps when my phone and tablets hardware are just as good if not better. Boat GPS is antiquated hardware, and I'm not paying for it. I've used Navionics on my tablet to locate wrecks in palm beach, when the Contenders electronics were having a problem getting a lock. I have a ton of friends down south who dont even use their GPS anymore, they strictly use Navionics app to locate things. The times are changing folks, Navionics app is just as good imo as a stand alone unit.
