Moonlightin

Last night about 8 pm Jimmy Holden and a client came by the house and wanted to know if I wanted to do some moonlightin for some trout. I said that I have been waiting to go but had no one to go with. We hit Mashes Sands at 10 P.M. Went out the canal and on out to the flats between the three chanels and started drifting. I guess we were a little early , we did not get a strike until 11:30 p.m. Chuck, Jimmie's client hooked into a large red, 41" long, back into the water. In about ten minutes I hooked a respectble trout 19"1/2. The bite really turned on at midnight and by 1:30 we had caught 33 trout and all of them in the slot, mostly 17-19 " . I should have worn my winter jacket, boy did it get cold out on the water. We used top dogs, lucky 13, chug bug, devil-horse, and tried niteglow DOA's but only caught 2 spanish on them. It was great to catch some trout again, the last two day trips were 0- nada. We were going again tonight but the wind put a stop to that, mayby tomorrow night.
