About ten days ago i bought a 50 pound bag of whole corn for my deer feeder in my back yard. The feeder is actually a covered salt block holder that the farmers use for their cattle. I have a resident doe that i have been feeding for about four years. Of course sometimes i will have seven or eight deer visiting. I have set up a water source for them too. Of course many other animals feed off the corn and different bird geeder i have. Is there such a thing as "BAD CORN"? Not even the squirrels have gone to this feeder since i added this bag of corn. Normally, they eat about fifty pounds a week! I noticed this last bag was "like" dusty, or like it had maybe "flour" substance in it???

The flour substance is corn dust, that is whats left after the weevils eat the corn. Deer usually will not eat corn when it has weevils in it. Even the kernels that look ok probably have a small hole where the weevil entered the kernel and has eaten the inside out. Best to clean out your feeder and start over.

Once the weevil gets into the corn we can't even get the hogs to eat it.

Thanks for the information -- i will bring it back --- PITA !! The bag didn't have a brand on it (plain white bag)-- i'm guessing that was my first mistake!!
