I am new to Tallahassee and I'm looking for some places to catch mudfish. I will be fishing from shore (I don't have a boat). Anyone know of any good spots to catch mudfish?

Thanks!!!

Seriously? If you're like me just forget your pliers when you go bass fishing and you'll catch one every time.

Yeah I really like catching them, used to catch them in the Everglades...great fight! Any specific lakes or ponds that hold a lot of them?

I always land them on the west end of talquin, but need a boat. I call them Choupique, that is about all they are good for other than testing line and drag.

This is an interesting request.

Do you just like catching them or do you eat them as well? I've tried several time in my life to eat them but never got a good recipe. In all honesty, I don't even understand the fun of catching them. They pull about like a log.

Tell us more! We might be missing something?

I caught a huge one in Jackson... and it fought like crazy!
Caught several in Lake Jackson over the years. No big concentration but they are there.

Thanks for the replies! Anyone know if they are in Piney Z?

SS342: I just like catching them. Don't think I would attempt to eat one after the reviews I have been reading lol. I think they put up a good fight and they get pretty big too.
