Had some hot intel on one of our spots, but it was old-before the rains and the cold snap, but we decided to brave it anyways. It was cold. Got to our spot a little early and the tide was not yet high enough, so we went to a few other spots with no joy. Did I mention it was cold? At 30mph on the water, they were chilly boat runs. Went back to spot A and managed some sheepies, a black drum and one baby red that wanted to play. My nephew took home his two that were big enough to clean ( I used to eat them a lot when I was a young un down south). I cleaned them for him and he just called me and told me that Sheephead are now on the menu!

All fish were caught on live shrimp. Not a bump on artificials.

I don't guess I've ever caught one in FL but we caught a huge mess in Louisiana a few years ago. They were some really good eating! Kind tasted closer to shrimp and crab than to fish.

1F2F: I had to chuckle at your post. I've been there and done that.....It is cold out on the water! Closest I've ever come to freezing to death has been on the water. Years ago, we mixed diesel fuel in sand in a 5 gallon metal bucket and set it afire to keep warm. It didn't help much but some if you could get your hands over the bucket.

Can tell a thread that does not contain duck hunters. Its balmy out these days! lol

LOL I duck hunt in FL, MS. MO and Saskatchewan, but I am dressed for it then. I think I was colder yesterday than when I hunted 9 degrees F in SK one trip.
