Hand held GPS question

If you wanted to use a hand held GPS on a rental boat would you buy one of those suction cup mounts or just hold it in your hand? Any other suggestions?

Ken, you could buy a rail mount. Rather than trust a suction cup, I would feel better about clamping to a hand rail.
