If you don't have wired speakers in your boat, Tallahassee's Costco has a good portable speaker for sale. It's the Grace Audio EcoExtreme... features an internal headphone jack to hook to your phone or mp3, player will run for 4 or 5 trips off of 3 AA batteries, is waterproof, big enough to hold your keys along with your phone, and sounds darn good for a single book sized speaker. I've been using mine for a year or two and love it. Well worth the $32 Costco is charging for it.

Badbagger, I don't own a iPod but my DroidX is pretty big as phones go and I can fit it in the case with a fairly thick rubber cover left on the phone. As long as the iPod has a standard headphone jack and fits in the case it will work fine. If you google it, sure you can find specs on what'll fit / internal space dimensions. Forgot to mention one thing, case even floats. Since waterproof and floats, use it by our pool quite often too.
