Hey guys asking for a lil info about fishing out of horseshoe. My gf parents have taken there rv down to horseshoe for the nxt 8 months and were going down this wkend...so u know i GOT to take the boat. Never fished down that way..farthest south i've been has been Keaton. If anyone has fished that area...a little pointers would be nice. My biggest concern is structures...rocks...oyster bars.

Go out the new channel until you know the area better. You can then use the old channel. I've fished north towards Pepperfish Key but lots of good fishing before you get there. Look for grass and keep hunting in 3.5 to 6 feet water.

Went last week for 3 days. Day one the weather was perfect and we limited out 15 trout in 2 hours. Went to the right towards Peperfish. Next day the wind blew but still managed to catch 12 trout. Third day was a wash out. Fishing was great. Stop by the shrimp lady near the shrimp boats. If it is a real low tide there will no water anywhere. You have to use the main channel. Be very carefull. Caught fish from 2ft to 5ft. Make sure you take with you what you need. Not a good selection in the one store that is there.
