Reminds me of the days before the public sewer system. Half of those houses just dumped into the canal. A young family was heading the canal when a kid saw a certain type of human waste floating down the canal. He started hollering ... stinky ... stinky ... stinky. His mom could not get him to shut up until they were complete out of site. Used to be a nasty smelling place on low tide.
