Very unlikely day after viewing "red sky at morning." Spent hour and half early looking for reds on topwater but could only get a couple of followers. No congregations of mullet.
Full moon reflection.
Tried just about everything for trout with no luck until I dug out an old gold/black BiteABait and it was on! After 23.5, 19.75 and 19.5 had to release a 21 and pair of 22s before getting the next keeper at slightly over 19. With the wind howling out of the SE I decided to make one more drift and got another 19 to finish out the five. I was whipped from the wind but tickled with the results. I normally have little success with netting larger trout by myself but the fishing gods shined Sunday am and not a single fish was lost boatside.
Stayed between 3.5 and 4.5 feet as best I could. Wind sock was a lifesaver!

Great Pictures- Gotta Love that slick-smooth water - Just can't tell the scale of them trout but they sure look BIG!

Neighbor reported seeing boat come in on Friday with three very large cobia...estimated largest over 50#! He said they shot them boat side with a spear gun after fighting on rod and then lost their spear gun over the side. He said they announced plans to go out again on Saturday but I did not get a report. I don't find the idea of shooting them boat side very sporting....everyone should have a large cobia thrashing around the boat...at least once!

It will certainly build character...if you and the boat survive!

I hate the thought of one thrashing around with a spear through it !!!

were you using the floater diver similar to a redfin or rapalla, or were you using the sinking bait that is similar to a ratle trap?

Floater/diver model....I've never seen the other one. It was much too rough to work it on the surface so I was getting it down as quick as possible and working in short jerks and the strikes were very aggressive!

My only problem with the bait is its lack of durability. They last me about one outing before the paints starts coming off. I've heard of guys refinishing them with a tougher finish material. I'd like to hear from someone who does on their technique and materials.
