Still pre-fishing for an upcoming tournament - Saturday was a wash....a window for a few hours looked good for Sunday. Woke at 3am - checked NOAA "small craft advisory" - checked wind alert was going to start puff'n about 0900. So, I texted DP and said sleep in it ain't worth it. After a cup of coffee at 630 and looking at the tranquility and lack of wind - I was wish'n we had went. Got a text around 8 stating, "yeah"...,.I replied I can be ready in 30 minutes...knowing better
Hit the water around nine....hit a new spot found a few fish nothing special. Moved across the mirror slick bay - crossing West bay point at about 65 - we find a little southwest ripple coming in. Stop and fish 100 yards down a bank - in ten minutes it went from mirror slick to puff'n at 20 mph....so we move further west
.
Missed a few fish at the third spot and now the wind is humm'n and rollers are coming in, so we head back towards the ramp. Come off a flat where deep water is getting pinched into two banks & it looks like a washing machine Jumptrout worked on. Stacked 3 footers - the Big O lived up to her big water reputation.
Moved around to a bank that was going with the wind and started chunk'n & wind'n. Found a few fish nothing new - community hole. Caught fish on Aqua Dreams & Bite A Baits.
Looking good for a 65 mile one way trip this weekend to spot A & another 15 miles to spot B
Need a spot C....fish still somewhat scattered should be good with the new moon though
Few fish from Sunday & wind chart...we left at 1300 with it gusting to 30
