Keaton Beach was as crowded yesterday as I have ever seen it. The water clarity was gin clear and the water temp was in the high 70's. I talked to a friend at Econfina who was complaining at how muddy it was over there. We caught a pile of fish and quickly limited out on trout. The lady fish were there in full force and despite my good buddy Bman telling me how delicious they are, I didn't keep any. We also couldn't keep live bait in the water without the sharks hitting it. Overall it was a great trip. The boat ran good, didn't visit with the FWC and the truck didn't have a blowout this trip.

Yeah, we saw scallops in several places. The trout were hitting jigs and hard baits. I actually caught several on a Ratl-Trap. I had never tried one in saltwater and it worked like a champ.

Maybe they will be at Keaton this year. Never tried that.

Surprised to hear about the sharks you had to deal with. In three trips out last week at Keaton I only caught two sharks. We were fishing with fresh bait most of the time also. We were north of Keaton though. The further you head north, the more stained the water gets. By the time you get to Yates Creek the water is almost tea color.
Thanks for the report.
