Dropped the small boat in at about noon. The water was very very shallow. The deepest I could find was around 5 feet. I netted some minnows for bait. 2 of them looked really unusual, almost like striped bass fry. I figured they were probably white bass or hybrids, since a striped bass would die in a 5ft lake in a florida summer. Access to lake jackson was not option from the southern end. Saw a couple yaks out, they didnt look like they were catching anything. Later on I hooked up with a short bass behind a patch of weeds, but he shook the hook out after plowing into the weed wall. I pulled the boat out at 2, and headed over to Iamonia for the rest of the day.
