Planned a trip with Jose Gaspar and family for the AM and Wolfeman for the afternoon.

Got to rock landing and was greater by this awesome sunrise

Kids were ready to go!

We hit the water and got on some early trout action. But the exciting fish was the first shark of the day.
Image
After catching enough trout for lunch we headed to the shark hole and were not disappointed.
Not much more fun than seeing a rod doubled over with a big fish tearing drag off the reel!
They really are a great sportfish; strong, willing to bite and great long runs on light tackle.

After they had all reeled in a few JAWS we ran back to the marina.
Fish cleaned up fast and the folks at Posey's dockside cooked them up for our lunch.

Part 2
Wolfeman arrived as we were finishing lunch. Rods and tackle were swapped out and we went on a hunt for trout.
Found them all over...
Really not a bad spot out there. After fishing through a lot of shorts and ladies we got our limit and a couple of bonus Spanish.

Caught fish from 3-8 feet of water over grass. With the windy conditions shrimp and gulp were the ticket.

FYI- We were checked by FWC- he was polite and did his job quickly leaving us to fish.
Sounds like he is living and launching near panacea so you have been warned ;-)

Had a great day on the water and I'm ready to go again!

It was quite the enjoyable afternoon on the water. Just what the doctor ordered.

I could tell two things were true.

1. Barry was thankful to be able to share the experience of the morning with the young folks on-board, and...

2. He was equally thankful that the afternoon was lower speed.

An excellent host as usual.

Great report, we're going to splash the rebuilt SeaArk in the morning at the Lighthouse. May be a bit windy but going to give it a go.
