Yamaha PWC Mechanic

My wife has a 2001 Yamaha personal watercraft. I would like to find a mechanic, preferably a certified Yamaha PWC mechanic, that is competent, capable and charges fair prices to tune this unit up and check it out. I have noticed a whiff of gas smell when opening the engine compartment. May be a small leak somewhere. I have not been able to locate one. Of course nothing is easy to get to in the engine compartment. The closer to Alligator Point the better. Any recommendations on who to use and / or who not to use ? Thanks,

Give these guys a call...if its a Yamaha they can fix it! Ask for Pete or Marvin.

Just about every one I have owned or been around will have that smell after sitting. I always wondered why we do not hear of them exploding every now and then.....
I am also surprised they are not required to have a fan vent system like inboards do...My two Sea Doo's have a ventilation system, but it only works when moving.
EDIT: I googled "jetski explosions". Wow, Check it out. It happens!

Probably wouldn't be to hard to install a fan/vent system like the inboard engines of a boat. My wife wants a PWC. Guess I'll be installing one on it if she ever does get one.

I would imagine that the problem with a fan on one, would be the fact that they tend to get submerged a good bit!

Thanks for the recommendation on the mechanic. I will give them a call.
I would like to get the fuel smell checked just to satisfy my concern. The pwc has not been tuned in years. No doubt the carbs could stand some attention. May have saltwater termite damage I can't see.

Hadn't thought of that. I guess they can be pretty fun on a hot day but I think they are pretty obnoxious to. I have to fight the urge to chunk a crankbait at them as they ride by while I am fishing....
