Just bought a boat! Rocks?!

I just recently bought a '66 glass skiboat and I'm currently redoing it. Should be ready in a month or so. I'm only really going to use it for cruising, scalloping and going out to the sandbar. I've been reading the boards alot the last couple days and I see alot of talk about rocks. I'm from PCB and used to those waters and we don't really have any rocks over there. Are there any inshore? Are they marked? Can any of you locals give me a quick tutorial on how to avoid hitting them?

Don't run east of the St. Marks river channel for rock issues and you'll be ok. There are oyster bars and piles to the west, so keep that in mind though. Cruising the river channel and out past the sandbar you are ok.
You say ski boat so I am assuming an IB/OB at least, so be careful of where you pull up on in shallow water.

Just search "rocks" in the search field and you will see. I hit one last week in an area we have been running for years at Econfina that I thought was clean.

I saw a picture on here of some rocks that had a white pole marking them. Is that common?

That's like trying to name all of the gnats in your yard.
