Got up early with my Dad and hit the pier about 0830. Not much wind or water movement but we managed a keeper whiting, a 2 ft. shark, and a big blue in the first hour. Then it slowed down, only got a few catfish and dad lost something big. No trout this time, there's usually lots of good white trout and some whiting mixed in. About 1100 it thundered :o and he wanted to go to the dirt so we packed up. On the way back we went thru heavy rain close to Medart. Rained just past the golf course on 98 and then clear skies. I think we woulda been OK to stay a while longer, but he would have never let me forget it if he was right. Anyway, good to catch a few with Dad. I hope we get to go again soon. :smt004

No lights, so I don't think you can night fish there. Sounds like you did OK this AM, I wanted to go by Bottoms Rd. and fish in front of the ramp, but Dad was ready to go and the clouds were looking mean. Maybe next time.

What pier in Panacea are you taking about? The 98 bridge pier has lights for fishing at night.

This pier is in Wooly Park behind Crum's Mini Mall.
