Improvised Redfish Magic

I know that redfish magic are supposed to catch fish. So instead of buying one, I opened up the ole' freshwater tackle box and found a spinner bait and buzz bait. Cut the skirts off, and put a bass assassin on. I'm sure the spinner bait one will work, but I'm more curious in the buzz bait. Topwater is my favorite way to fish, but I have been having problems hooking fish that are hitting traditional topwater baits.
Maybe I can get the best of both worlds here with a buzz bait/soft plastic combo? :smt098
Anyone else ever tried this with the buzz bait?
I will try it out and report back.

Just guessing here, others who are wiser may know better, but I would think that the willow bladed spinner bait will swim too fast. The big colorado blade thumpers have that slower pulsing retrieve...I may be way off though.

The buzz bait looks exciting as heck. In any case, I look forward to your report!!

I HAVE USED THE 3 BLADED BUZZ BAIT WITH CHARTRUSE TRAILERS ON MOON LIGHT NIGHTS AND HAVE HAD GREAT SUCCESS. TROUT LOVED THAT BAIT REELED IN AS FAST AS A ABU GARCIA 65 CAN BE REELED IN, FRESH WATER BLACK BASS ALSO LOVE THAT SAME BAIT REELED IN FAST ON THE FULL MOON.

Try tying a 3 foot leader behind your buzzbait and rigging a second unweighted swimbait. I tried this once and had great luck catching numbers but nothing of any size. Love trying new things.
