I admit it. I take Beer fishing.
He's good company; even if he is still a little wet behind the ears.

While I will drink a good cold beer with the rest of 'em, I have a policy of mine to NOT mix boating and alcohol. If I am captain of a boat (or Jetski), I do not touch it.
Way too many things can go wrong out on the water without complicating it with a few beers. If something goes wrong 15 miles out, I want ALL of my senses about me!
I have no problem with my passengers indulging though!
Plus, it gives me something to look forward to while I am cleaning my limit!

That's one less item to mull over when wadefishing the St Marks Refuge.
Beers add weight to the backpack, cut into reaction time around gators, stingrays, and diamondbacks, and would be too warm to drink after fifteen minutes in the creeks during summer...
...but the promise of cold suds after fishing sure speeds up the hike back to civilization.
Speaking of diamondbacks, while waiting for the storm to pass last Friday, I hunkered down on the lighthouse porch, and peered in one of the building's windows. A beautifully-marked four-footer was climbing up to the sill of another window across the room. If you ever take a lighthouse tour, watch your step.

Good point, Pa. I'm going to stop fishing with Beer. He's a little wet behind the ears anyway.
I'm going to start fishing with my buddy Wine.

that's a heck of a complement to BF
only cans on my boat. I'll sip a cold one, but prefer weak, or virgin, margaritas, much more refreshing without the concern. Perfect margaritas are for once we get back to the house.

and after the llama named drama has been circling this site looking for water, you post another controversial subject, not that I object, but seems there has been an awful lot of bickering on this site here lately. Maybe the weather will improve and people will start fishing again. Us habitual lurkers are getting concerned..
