All-
I am looking for a place in or near Tallahassee that may sell spears I could use on mullet and flounder. If any of you have any tips on this it would be great, also any photos of spears you make have used. I am not interested in those 3 prong heads, something inexpensive and decent.

Thanks!

Crum's in Panacea sells the Sea Striker Aluminum poles with Stainless steel screw in heads. About $80 for pole and head I think. Sea Striker has a 3 prong and 5 prong head available. The barb's are not very aggressive, so you have to be careful when bringing a fish in the boat so it doesn't flip off. I use the 5 prong head. The width of the 5 prong head is 5.5 inches so it helps as a measuring tool also. I also found some heads on eBay that had much more agressive barb's. Actually I had to bend them down some as it was hard to get a fish off of them. I give these head's to the newbies in my boat so they won't lose the fish.

Those mullet can be fast, so I would go with the 5 prong over the 3 prong.

These poles are very lightweight, and come in 10' and 12' lengths.

West Marine may also sell these.

I've also seen some bamboo poles that look nice.

I don't know why I'm telling you all this. There are no sheepshead, mullet or flounder in our area, so you're just wasting your time.

Here is the link to some I bought. I would buy these heads over the Sea Striker heads if you don't want to lose a fish. But still buy the Sea Stryker pole and drill a hole through it to mount this gig. Or maybe weld it if you know how to do that kind of thing.
