Thinking about making a trip

Post by Rhodes »

I’m relatively new to the Panacea area and the Big Bend for that matter. I’ve only fished out of Panacea two times and that was back in the Spring. I’m thinking about making a trip down in a couple of weeks but was wondering if it would be worth the expense. What is the fishing like in late July in this area? I plan to fish inshore and also maybe hit some near shore reefs in the 10 mile or less range.

Fishing should be very good. Start shallow in the morning and work your way deeper as it warms up

In general, fish bite better in the daytime AROUND THE NEW MOON during warmer months. Reasons are: so much bait and stronger tides. Full moon and day time fishing are tougher in summer months.

Full Moon>>>>> Night time fishing is cooler and better under some moon light.
