Been searching for some new mono, Berkley Big Game let me down a little, might have been the age of the spool, it takes me awhile to us a 1/4 pound spool.
I have some braid now, still looking for a good mono.
What are you guys using?
Looking around there are some I have never heard of:
Momoi, Sufix Superior, Tuff Stuff Premium Mono, Izor Line Premium,
I have spooled one reel with Triple Fish, not sure I like it, it came off the spool kinda funny and seems a bit large in diameter for 12 lb line.
Appreciate your input,
Thanks, Chalk

I use The trilene big game inshore and have for years. But I only use the 10 lb test on my light spinner. It works well for me. However, I've been using Ande 15 for my baitcasters for about a 2 years now and really like it.

I,m very suprised that Berkley Big game let you down, that is a premier line.
If stored out of direct sunlight , in a warm dry area, most lines will last for ages.
Ande is a good brand, as is Suffix .

I shouldn't really complain, I didn't have trouble till I got to the end of the spool, though I have had the spool for over a year or two. I don't change line but maybe twice a year, might explain the breaks I have been getting

Ummmmmm, hello McFly!
Mine is changed every other trip, or every trip if I got heavy use out of it. I stretched this last batch of Trilene to 4 trips, and had problems with it Friday.

Silverthread AN40. Cabellas catalog. $30 for a 3000 yard spool. Never had it go bad. It's a copolimer, not a mono. Smaller diameter than mono. Tough as nails. Been using it for years.
OK, McFly. You spend over $100 for a reel. You pay big bucks for a rod. You spend $4 to $7 for a lure. There ain't nothin between you and that fish but that piece of string.Order the green AN40. When it starts to fade, change it.
As for you, Mr. Webmaster, my profile is set for eastern time, and my post times are an hour off. Do I need to set my profile to Atlantic time, or can you correct for daylight savings?

I use Stren clear/blue, and have been pleased with it. I used to use Ande, and I liked it also.
