Lanark Reds N Trout 7-28-13

Don and I decided to sneak out this morning and target Reds before the thunder boomers came a rolling across the bay around lunch time. We splashed the boat at 7:15 and were headed across the mirror like bay to an overcast morning. Fishing was slow for the first hour but picked up nicely by 8:45. We had a 2 man limit of Reds by 10:30. The reds hit everything in the box today including topwater, new penny gulp shrimp, and cut bait. We also got in on a few trout today including an absolute stud measuring 24.5" weighing 4.5 pounds. Our big Red and big Trout weighed a hair over 11 pounds, def a tourney stringer. About 1:00 the squall lines started rolling in so we decided to head to the ramp. Had the boat on the trailer by 130 and got a nice car/boat wash on the way back to tally. Was in the pool enjoying some cold
by 3! Life is good.

Nice way to wake up in the morning...

Nice pair....

Don with our morning Reds

And with a look at that sky it's time to call it a day
