I'm going out of St. Marks with some friends this Saturday and they are coming from Lake City and I want to put them on some reds. Now I heard what baits are working and that the place to fish right now is around the oyster bars. My question is would low tide early in the morning with the cooler temps be better or around noon time when its high tide? Any tips would be helpful! I will follow up with a report after the trip. I am not a redfish expert, but I think you want to target the fish along ambush points on the bars when the tide is moving. When all else fails, look for bait mullet etc. If there is an abundance of bait, the predators will be there. If there is no bait, there is no reason for the redfish to be there.

If I were fishing there, I'd hit the water at first light and fish until noon. Lo tide around 6, hi tide around noon. Fish the bars as the tide comes in. Everyone fishes a little differently, but I fish on the up current side of the bar when it is exposed, and the down current side when water starts to flow over them. The chance of rain may be lower in the am also. Good luck
