St marks 8-1-13

Sorry for late report. Went out of mashes, but ran to 30-35 ft of st marks. Water was dark but surprisingly fairly clear. Freediving, I could make out some detail from 20 ft off bottom.... First hit some low relief hard bottom in 30ft.... Barren. Then better relief in 35 a few more miles out. Few fish despite nice structure . One more spot in 40, a dive buddy got a small hog and two gags and that was it for the day. Seas kicked up for ride in but not too bad.
Just good to be out there.....
Wed had some great dives earlier in the summer off DI, so I guess I was due for an off day.
