A good dose of HOT lead would work.
A few years back a panther was seen near my farm. It was calving season so I called the authorities to see if they would come trap and remove the cat. They wanted proof of a panther being in the area. Without thinking and not being a smarty, I made the mistake of asking if they wanted me to call them if I killed it catching my calves? You would have thought I was the worst criminal in the world and I got the thought they had rather shoot me!
Sometimes it is better not to say anything.

Yep, shoot you, the land owner, before: a snail, a frog, a panther, a 2 inch fish, a bear, a coyote??, or any two legged predator!
