I guess this will be the summer that never was. Lets hope for a dry fall so everything can settle down.

Andrew and I fished last Saturday out of Carson's store at Lanark. We found some moderately clean water starting at the West end of the sand bar that runs behind the store (where you would turn to go to Dog Isl.) and running West from that point on the inside of the next sandbar to the West for about 1/4 mile. It was okay until the tide turned and started coming in.
We fished both sides of that bar and caught trout, large ladyfish, seabass, and even a grouper. Also saw a lot of reds along the shoreline to the East of the Lanark ramp, but could not get them to hit. There is a LOT of floating grass in that area.

It was the first time we had been to the coast since mid July, and it was worth the trip.

I didnt respond due to you asking about Carrabelle's water, that I am not sure of. Our water is alot better than most, it is getting better by the day. We have had NO rain so far this week. Dont get me wrong it is still dark but not DIRTY!

The Carrabelle River is still pumping dark brown water. Once I got further West than I described above, I lost sight of the bottom even in one foot of water.

We'll be down there early evening tomorrow. Top off the tank at the Lanark Mart and, get ready for Sat.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. The water looks great on this particular flat.

Who cares about water clarity if the fish are biting? I was fishing around Carrabelle. The trout were knocking the snot out of my topwater plug all morning. Also got a nice slot red on a spoon. Fish on ...

Yea, water clarity may not be good, but like above post said, Carabelle is hottt inshore and offshore. I went out 30 miles with a buddy and we caught Red Snapper and Triggerfish. Trout around dog island have really been hitting.
