St Marks - 15 Sep

Fished the refuge for a few hours this morning, from 7:30 - 10:30. Managed a 20" bluefish and my first remora on the fly. Had a few other short strikes but nothing solid. The water was full of baitfish and mullet, so things should be turning on soon.

I fished last week and got 7 jacks and a ladyfish - no eaters but all fun on the fly rod. There were also swarms of flies at the refuge last week, both black flies and yellow flies. Today wasn't so bad but this is from last week:
