Sad story.

Very sad!

Ok, first off. Law abiding citizen here who normally sides with the police.

To show just how far I side with the police before speaking to Cody, though I think the cops got overly rough with the woman in Killearn I ALSO THINK that nothing much good every happens at 2:00am, and riding around with three exchange students at that time of night and driving crazy to show off for them and hitting a house in the process... well, sounds flat out idiotic. The root cause of her rough take down wasn't crazed cops, even if they acted out of order. Being drunk, out at 2:00am, and already having shown her azz was the root cause of the problem. Had she been sleeping peacefully at home with the hubby the entire incident wouldn't have happened.

So no police-basher here... but how do you have a dead body lying yards from a parked vehicle without finding it in the middle of summer? Wisconsin winter with a snow covered frozen body would be one thing, but an uncovered body in the Florida heat... I just don't get it. I've run country roads every week for about 30 years and can say based on thousands of observations any animal carcass bigger than a squirrel draws in buzzards... snake, possum, armadillo, you're talking at least a few buzzards. Jump up to a pig or deer, and it's usually about 20 buzzards that I see, and that's within just two or three days in the summer.

Not claiming to be Sherlock Holmes, but how hard is it to watch the sky for buzzards flying overhead? And how could dogs have been used and NOT found him?

Want to believe police did the right thing, but just can't logically buy that they really did a thorough search and didn't find him. This case seemed bizarre from the start and will be one that sticks with me due to it's tragic and difficult to comprehend ending.

Just two things:

1: They did not say (or I missed it) how far the body was from the car. 50 feet or 10 miles?

2: From what I read on some earlier posts about this fellow, he did have some enemies.....

Why didn't the dogs find him? From what I've been told, he wasn't that far from his truck.
