Captains and Crew –

Thanks for volunteering your boat, time, and expertise for this special fun event. We could still use another 10 to 12 boats, so if you know anyone, please have them call/email me. For those captains already committed to fishing this event, please email me your contact information, including cell phone number, boat size, and number of people / ages of children / boys or girls fishing on your boat.

Those of you who have fished Take a Kid Fishing in the past years know what a rewarding experience this is. For those of you that are new to TAKF, here's the mostly common sense rules:

No swimming / no leaving the boat (i.e., wading)
No swearing
No alcohol
Take all the pictures you want, but none can be posted or published without prior permission from the children's home
Proper attire please, no skimpy bathing suits

You may want to bring a couple extra hats incase one gets blown away. Most of these kids have never been on a boat before and will need you to tell them what to do.

Most boats will also have a sponsor from the children's home to accompany the child.

The children will have their own lifejackets, snacks, and drinks. Captains will supply fishing gear and tackle.

The children are scheduled to arrive at the Fort at 7:45 and fishing will be from 8:00 to 1:00. Please be prompt back at the pavilion to enjoy lunch (provided) and a helping of tall fish tales!

Meet me in the morning at the pavilion to receive your packet, which will include boat sticker and a boat flag (to display that you're fishing).

We will send a ramp fee waiver for the fort in a later email. The waiver will be in Adobe pdf format so that you can download and print. The waiver should be displayed on your dash. If you are unable to print the waiver, see me at the pavilion; I'll have extras. You can email me at doneengland@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Once again Captains, thanks for volunteering! We appreciate your time and effort in this fun event. Have a fun time with the kids!

I hate to ask this but what is the latest you can volunteer for this? I've got a couple of things to do to my boat but the main issue is now my truck is acting up. I want to make sure I have a way to haul the boat down and have everything good to go on the boat first.

Don -

Put me down. Hopefully some of these rivers will clean up by then.

Thanks everyone, thanks Steve
I have 4 boats added today , totaling 17, can still use 5-6 more.
Rhettly, you can commit and if somthing happens, which it usually does--I'll put your kid on an other boat.
