Shell Island Fish Camp

Post by SS-342 »

Several weeks ago, I ask help from the forum as to a place to stay over night at or near St. Marks as we were participating to TAKE A KID FISHING DAY. Several good suggestions were given but we chose to stay at Shell Island Fish Camp just a few miles from the Fort.

It was not a bad choice. We love fish camps and the people who use them so we were like Bur.Rabbit being thrown in the brier patch. We found the camp friendly, exciting activities going on and our room was small but spotless.

Thank you forum for your help!

Came down from Kentucky boat shopping 2 years ago in November and needed a place to stay for a couple nights. Was recommended Shell Island FishCamp. Loved the place and have returned three times for a week and will continue to make Spring and Fall trips. All the folks there are great. If you are looking for 1960's atmosphere and hospitality I highly recommend.

I have stayed there multiple times, enjoyed my stays and have never left w/ a tv remote. I do enjoy the atmosphere there. I hope to be there this coming weekend. I also hope that my schedule is where I can help w/ the "Take a kid fishing" next year, even if it's helping cook. That really sounds like a feel good, pay it forward, type event.

redbelly, we hope you can make it next year. We have yet to meet any of the children who is not as nice and polite as can be. I know you will receive a blessing.

We'll probably stay at the Shell Island Fish Camp again.
