Neospirin and a bandaid. Infection is your biggest worry. When I stuck myself the doc prescribed some antibiotic pills.

I ALWAYS CARRY A BOTTLE OF PEROXIDE ON THE BOAT, FILL A CONTAINER DEEP ENOUGH TO COVER THE WOUND, HOLD THE WOUND IN THE PEROXIDE FOR A MINUTE OR SO, DRY THE WOUND AND APPLY COMBIOTIC SALVE AND COVER WITH BAND-AID OR BANDAGE TO KEEP ANY SLIME OR DIRT FROM GETTING INTO THE WOUND , YOU SHOULD BE O.K..

I keep hydrogen peroxide on boat for just this thing. Skitter walk hooks hurt BTW.

A Heineken rinse works in a pinch.
But the doc will probably recommend hydrogen peroxide, followed by Bacatracin and a Band-Aid.

Thanks guys. I too keep h2o2 on the boat and I used it. Just looking for anything I can do at this point to prevent any infection now that the holes are healed up.
I also had some good wire cutters on board which saved the day. The plug WAS a skitter walk.

My doc (well the doc at Urgent Care) said the antibiotic pills were a precaution because, "There are all kinds of nasty germs in seawater." I didn't think I needed them, but I took them anyway. Healed up fast.

Pa has a point. I was a mechanic back in my younger days, and when I would get a cut or puncture, I would wash it in gasoline. NEVER had an infection of any kind.

Three things that saved the day. Pro tip: Keep them somewhere you can get with your left hand if needed.
