Pretty good day at Keaton

Started out waiting at the marina for about 30 minutes until the water came in so we could get out. We finally got out and it was a slow bite. After lunch we started putting fish in the cooler. I caught a nice 26 3/4 redfish. We ended up with 10 keeper trout and a big red. We had another big red get off at the boat and probably missed 5 or 6 good trout. Not a bad day.

Did you go north or south? What depth water?
Thanks!

We were also down on Saturday. Our morning was no better than yours, unfortunately our afternoon was only slightly better than our morning. Did manage to pick up 6 and several short reds (just happy to see some reds, it's been a while). Our bites were few and far between and the fish seamed as cold as we were. Water temps were 49-52, wind was blowing and the sun never came out for more than a few minutes. Not sure where willing fish were, tried the usual cold-water locations, deep holes, oyster bars, mud flats, nadda. Threw the tackle box at em, including shrimp, which I thought should do the trick. Still got a lot to learn about winter time fishing on the flats.

They must have went south down around Dallus Creek or out in the Clay Creek beds on the flats.

ok., so I've been fishing Keaton for several years and never heard of any thing called the clay creek beds. Mind filling me in?
