Screw the weather forecast. School is cancelled tomorrow and I'm going wadefishing at the St. Marks Refuge. Life is short. Play hard.

Let us know how you did fishing. You have to be a Blue Blooded, True Blue Fisherman! If not, I would think you will be before the day is over. I hope you don't freeze to death.

It just sleeted on us pretty good here at the office... with the refuge being just a few minutes from us, I assume Gary did as well.
Get under some palms!

Well, shucks. It was just cold rain when I parked and started biking on the levee, but when the raindrops turned to ice picks, I lost feeling in my hands & had to walk the bike back. Final score: Mother Nature 1, Gary 0. Gong back for a rematch Saturday.

I love you Gary! I would have been out there too if I didn't have to work...Now you can say you fished in a sleet storm in FL. Check!

Dog gonit GaryDroze, the definition of die hard fisherman has been "Re written". I admire your spunk, but please give mother nature some respect...... regardless of your brass balls!
Go give em hell Friday evening thru Sunday midnight. We'll be waiting for the report.

FRIDAY:
Had to work
SATURDAY:
3 bass, 3 mullet. Warmer weather, but shallowish Refuge creeks still a bit too nippy for both my feet and the trout. Surprised myself and a few 16" mullet that were hunkered down in a cast net bait hole. Then fooled some chunky 2lb largemouths on the sweetwater side of the levee. Yep, they eat mudminnows.
SUNDAY:
3 trout, 2 bass. Went back to work on the bass in the most eastern pool on Deep Creek levee. Then the sun made an appearance, motivating both trout and waders (well, me anyway) to venture back into the creek. Three from 17-20 inches obliged on a low tide. Made the hike back a happy one.
A local author once said the trouble with North FL winters is that they keep getting your hopes up!
