THE WIND BLEW!
I launched at Williams and was headed out at safe light this morning. Caught 2 quick on a spinner bait. When the sun got over the trees the fish turned on. Caught 5 in 10 minutes, and left them biting. Started checking my humps. Found fish on 3 humps and left them alone. Tried several spots throughout the day. Caught a 4 pounder at 12:30, and a 5 pounder at 4:00.Most fish were caught on a texas rig. caught 3 on a rattle trap, 2 on a spinnerbait, 1 on a crankbait. Final tally, 15 keeper bass. Loaded the boat at 4:30.
The water temp is in the low 70's. The areas I fished today were stained. The wind was out of the east early, and switch to south during the morning. When it switched to south it picked up to 10 to 12 mph. Finally dropped to 5 to 8 at 3:00 this afternoon.
We're fisin the Coca-Cola tournament Saturday. maybe I found enough, if they hold, to get a check.

If your ever bored!
Hey Tin Can,
Sounds like a great day! If you ever need someone to go with to Talquin, give me a holler. I have a vast knowledge of Seminole, and Jackson, but have found myself tryin' like mad to learn Talquin. Im a younger fella (24), but bass fishin's my love. I can usually get a limit of fish (very hard to, but spinnerbaits always seem to produce), but am very confused when it comes to fishing all the creek channel ledges and the deeper points in the lake. I try and use the depth finder, and have had some success, but I know the lake can be much more productive. I come from Central Florida and am used to fishin' all the veggies, pads, eel grass, and so on..... I understand Talquin is a relatively veggie-less lake. Again, if your free one day, let me know. I can provide the rig (nothin real fancy), the gas (since it's so cheap nowadays!), and so on....maybe in turn for some of your knowledge about this Perplexing North Florida Stump infested beast of an impoundment. Great day on the water and good luck at your tourney.
