Econfina 2/22

With Saturday being my birthday, I decided to take the girlfriend and the Gheenoe down to the coast to catch some trout and reds. Couldn't have asked for a prettier day on the water, but the fishing itself was slow. We fished a few areas that I had done well in 2 weeks ago, but I think this erratic weather may have pushed them elsewhere. We were able to bring home 4 nice trout, but the few reds we saw were skittish and uncooperative. The water was still dark and probably will stay that way for a while after Sunday's rain. Overall, it was a great day on the water, and I can't wait for Spring...

Nice report, thanks for posting. I thought spring was here, it is 70 degrees and I look out my window and all the azelias and Jap Magnolias are in full bloom. And there is pollen all over the boat.

It's starting to feel like spring, I'm just ready for the fish to behave accordingly.

Tell'em, Pa. You gotta wait for the dogwoods to bloom for the trout to return to the flats.

trout are already on the flats around structure. We caught several Saturday. Water temps started around 65 and were over 70 by the time we left. I'll be throwing topwaters next trip
