Anyone have a trick for un-sticking those frozen stickers on your tackle bags? I have a couple of really nice bags which are great except the stuck zippers. I even hit a couple of zippers with PB Blaster and let em soak to no avail.

I'm anxious to see the responses on this. I have the same issue. Dang saltwater!

I've had good luck with CorrosionX . Then I use a zipper lube to keep them lubed up. But CorrossionX has been the best thing I've used to get the zippers undone....

Try some blue Dawn dish soap mixed with water in a squirt bottle. Mike from Mike's reel repair mentioned that he used it on his reels last year when he spoke at our club meeting. I had a bottle sitting in my boat shed and shot a couple stuck zippers on my tackle bag. After letting it sit a while, they came loose.

I've only done it to one tackle bag, so I am not sure if it works all the time, or if I just got lucky.

The problem is most likely the result of exposure to salt. I'd try any salt remover product that is designed to work on that. Once you get them working, chap stick or other similar product to keep them working. You might try contacting the manufacture to see if they have any suggestions. You folks out there who haven't had the problem YET... take note and begin preventative action now. Atticus is right on about having some really nice bags but the zippers being a problem.

Best solution to problem is to use the zippers more often. Now all i have to do is take my own advice more often.

I'm way beyond Chapstick at this point. But Chapstick would have been a good idea before I ran into "totally frozen" zippers.

Ever get a captain's bag for a tournament with generic tubes of Chapstick in it? Or see generic Chapstick on the counter at the dentist? Grab a stick and use it on the snaps/zippers that see salt spray. It will keep things working really well. #PROTIP

UPDATE on my frozen zippers: I am soaking in Kroil overnight. Will report back

Boeshield should do the job - I've used it on reels. You may have to order it online, but try a bike shop - it's often used for bicycle chains.

After you spray and soak good, run a small rope thru the open part of zipper and snatch hard. This is a last ditch effort where you are ready to trash the things anyway. I finally got my fish bag working again.
