Despite the erratic weather, we've been off to a pretty good start for 2014. The fish still seem to be bunched up pretty good, but find the bait and fish slow, and you should have no problems putting a few nice fish in the cooler. I've had some days where I hammed the trout, and others the reds, but last Sunday was the first time this year I've been able to get on them both really well...between the 2 of us, my dad and I boated around 15 trout with lots of over-slot fish, and 4 reds in the 17-29.5" range. Kept some nice fish and tagged the rest.

Planning to trade the rods in for a shotgun this weekend, but looking forward to getting back after the fish pretty soon. Hopefully we're nearing the end of these cold snaps and the flats will become more active.

Bait of choice has varied...I've caught fish on gold spoons, jerkbaits, gulp, redfins, topwater, etc.

Nice mess of fish. Looks like someone had some fun........... just gotta get out there and give em a try. Sounds like some frisky red fish, must mean "spring is in the air"!
