Tired of Carpenter Bees drilling in your house or shop?

I make these after I get a request. I can get them to you in a day or so in Tallahassee.

$15 a piece

RiverRunner, how often are you in TLH / can you deliver? I have a long dock getting hammered by them. Would gladly take 8 off your hands. Know they're not too difficult to make but just can't find the time.

Not sure if it would impact the results but have seen one design that twists things up a bit. Has the mouth of the clear plastic bottle aiming downward, then has a larger screw on container over it, with the lid screwed on so to empty just twist larger container off / guessing it makes it a bit more tougher for bees to find their way back out of the top too. Like the design of your top better but here's a pic that should give an idea what I'm talking about.

BBG, I'd be glad to build you 8 of them. I build them as I get the requests and if I would have saw this post earlier, I would have already been at it. I've seen all kinds of different type traps and believe it or not, that's the first one I've ever seen like the one you posted.

You can't tell from the pics, but I actually cut the top of the bottle off and flip it upside down to create a funnel going into the bottle. I have these traps hanging up all around my shop and I have yet to see one figure out how to get back out. (it drives the others ones crazy when one gets in the others can't get to it)

This pic might be big enough to see

I should be able to get your traps built this weekend for sure. Tomorrow evening my son has baseball practice, but Friday I will get after it. I work downtown during the week and can bring them in, then meet you out on the east side of town during the day sometime. When I get them built, I'll send you a PM with my number and we can hash out the details.

Thanks!!!

Sounds good, RiverRunner. Will be on the lookout for a PM from you. Eager to put them to use, as can't hardly walk down the dock without a half-dozen or so bees going crazy.

Know it's supposedly the stingerless males that do most of the defensive flying, BUT still not fun trying to walk your five year old daughter through a gauntlet of buzzing bees to do a bit of fishing. Killed a handful with a tennis racket this weekend but rather fish than play tennis! :smt045

Try a badminton racket. Swat and stomp.

  Those look good. It sure would beat playing bumble-bee tennis with them like I've been doing. I guess I just like swatting at them, like a game.

DixieReb, nothing says you can't use both the traps AND the racket! :-D

I mentioned in my review that RiverRunner's traps quickly captured more than 60 bees, but before AND after buying I've had fun with the tennis practice too. Still, using the racket guessing I've killed about 50 and over a longer period of time than I had the traps out. Sure consumes a lot less time and energy hanging the traps, that I can promise!
