I was downloading some satellite imagery of the creeks for the GPS this evening and stumbled across some crazy bottom structure east of Ecofina near Cabbage Creek. I don't want to raise any alarm, but I think a giant sea monster might be preparing to attack that levee.

Here it is on Bing Maps if you want a closer look:http://binged.it/1jeGmbz

Downstream from the levee:

Anybody seen this stuff up close? It might just be some crazy grass pattern or something. But I think I'll let someone else go investigate this one...

I'm not sure what your talking about, but if you mean the erosion marks it's just from the water moving out with the tides.

I don't believe that to be typical tidal patterns for a flat. That bottom gets exposed in extreme negative tides. I know as I have had to walk my canoe back before. Those images may have been taken soon after one such tide and you are just seeing where the water channeled. Either that or aliens. Yea, for sure aliens. They come down here and harvest all Reds the day before every one of my fishing trips.

Yeah, I figured. This is the only place on the whole coast where I've seen this weird interwoven pattern. Looks almost 3 dimensional. Pretty cool.

It is neat. I have seen that bottom exposed for hundreds of feet on extreme lows, not that that is unusual around here. However, that area has all those creeks that continue to drain when the water is out which may make those patterns more unique. All that said, I like the Sea Monster perspective way better. Could bring some more tourism to the area, especially if Sea Monsters taste good.
