I went, but no love from the trout on the flats for me. Water temperature 70 F.
To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

Yes it was, went to St. Joe Bay Saturday and had a great time fishing with my Brother in law. He caught 3 Spanish, we had several Spanish break us off. We could not find the trout but it was just nice to be in the boat again...

Hmmm... but did you get love from any other species? Inquiring minds want to know! In particular wondering about one that should be showing up any day now... :-)

Steve Stinson and I put in at Hickory Mound and started fishing outside the creek mouth.
The bite was not on fire, but OK.
We caught several top quality trout, a good red and some flounder.
All fish came on soft jerk baits except those that did not.
WHOSE FISH IS IT?

Spent about two hours on the west flats. We didn't have much time but we were itchingr to be out. Unfortunately, no bites.

We fished East flats to the rock garden. Trout bite turned on for about 1/2 hour in 3ft of clear water.

At least you got out. With water that warm I'm surprised you did not get any.

Fished Econfina Saturday with son in law and grandson caught tons of shorts and 2 limits of nice trout. A little windy but a nice day on the water.

We fished out of Keaton Friday and caught three limits of nice trout (17' to 19" ) in 4' to 6' of water. Mostly caught on four inch white gulp shrimp with chart. tail. Also one good Spanish and a big blue. Water was dark and couldn't see the bottom. No Sea Bass, pins, cat's or sharks.

Nina and I fished Wakulla Beach for a brief period mid afternoon. We caught 4 upper slot trout and then the wind started blowing. Doesn't take much in a Jon boat to be affected by weather conditions so we went in after about an hour and a half of fishing. Don't have a temp gauge on the jon boat, but I can tell you that the water was pretty stained over there. Afraid it will just get worse as the rivers are still dumping.
