Short report of the day.

Cindy and I left the ramp about 9:30 with a line of boats waiting. Second cast on the flats out toward Rock Island and a nice fat trout in the boat! Good day starting huh.....NOT! Not another one in the boat before later that afternoon. Decided around 11 or so to go out near Dog Ballard and do some trolling for a gag, but the water out there was like tea. Lure would dissappear after about a foot or so. NASTY! Saw a couple of boats anchored on top of the pile, so did not want to bug them too much. Hope their bottom fishing was more productive. Trolled around looking for structure with the bottom machine. Found a couple of promising spots, but no fish were biting in that dark water. I doubt they even could see my stretch 25's going by!

Back to the flats around 2 or so and boated 3 more trout and 2 flounder. Headed in about 4:30, Came home and cleaned the fish.

Water temps were 72 to 76, 1 foot seas or less..

The weather was beautiful! And of course, so was Cindy sitting up there in front of the boat fishing.

Yep, she whipped me fishing too, but I love her!

She took the only pic of the day.

DT: if you have maps on your GPS fish the shoulders of the old channel out from Rock Island. That is where they have been hanging for awhile. It could be 5 to 6 feet water.
