Keaton Monday 14th - Thursday 17th
Recent Fishing Reports - April 14th-17th 2014
Fishing out of the Keaton Beach - Sea Hag Marina - area flats.
Aboard 2 young Anglers - Skippy Sims, 16 and Woodrow Shaw, 17 from Atlanta GA
Reporting a respectable catch of Redfish, Speckled Trout...
Anglers were using light spinning tackle, approx. 15# braid, a 20# fluorocarbon leader, Gulp Shrimp - soft baits and a light jig heads 1/8th to 1/16th oz made with Gamakatsu Hooks. Best bait colors where 4" White, New Penny, and the Nuclear Chicken, which yielded the largest Trout of 24".
Despite rains, rougher water and a cold front taking air temp down to 40 on the 16th, the 2 managed to pull in a decent catch.
Monday yielded the best weather conditions, on Wednesday most Trout where taken from a slightly deeper depth, Thursday the best fish came from waters 1.5 to 2.5 feet close to shore in the grassy flats.
New to site, have some photos once figure out how to attach....
