Hey guys,

My buddy just got a small jon boat so we can get off the shore/docks and get to some different spots. Do any of you have recommendations for any decent fishing spots not too far from shore? We prefer salt water fishing, so anywhere off the shores of Alligator point/ st johns area?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if its easier to send a snap shot of the areas from google maps maybe that would be easier?'

Thanks!!!

Is your buddy's name Justin by chance? This is the second time this morning I've had somebody ask this same question.

I am not sure how small the boat / motor is, but you should be able to fish anywhere within Alligator Harbor. Other places that come to mind are:
1. Any of the river mouths in this area.
2. Go down the Aucilla, through West Pass and into the back waters just West of the Aucilla.
3. Hickory Mound.
4. Launch at St. Marks Lighthouse and fish the Gulf shoreline in either direction. You can go East all the way to Stoney Bayou, and actually run back most of the way through the backwaters once you learn your way around.

There are more, but this is what I can think of right now. Check out the website for Forgotten Coast Kayakers. They have a map with launch sites for kayaks, most of which will work for your boat.

Good Luck and watch out for roaming rocks...
